Lebanese Parliamentary Elections 2009 – Northern Matn

ballot_elections_smaller Today in Al-Balad newspaper there was a news about the Lebanese Parliamentary Elections news and secrets.

The first news was about the Armenian candidate in Northern Matn in the Kataeb list. According to the newspape’s sources, Kataeb’s list will not have any Armenian candidate which means there will not be any opponent against the Tashnag candidate.

From the time we were hearing about the parliamentary elections and from the time MP Michel Murr left the Change & Reform bloc, I was having guesses that something like this will happen. On the other hand, there could be some sacrifices inside the C&R bloc list but till now nothing is clear.

A scenario would be keeping the Orthodox seat empty which will give the chance for Michel Murr to win easily alongside Ghassan Moukhiyber from the C&R bloc.
Another scenario would be C&R bloc having a full list but in this caseĀ  the Tashnag party might erase one of the candidate’s name to replace it with Michel Murr.
There are more scenarios that one can make but the above two mentioned are the most possible.

note: I mentioned Michel Murr above but it is still not clear who will run since his son, Elias Murr, might be the one running for elections.
